Original music and songwriting telling stories through conceptual albums with different characters exploring various topics about the human condition from emotions and relationships, to spiritualism, consumerism, depression and PTSD.

For many now years, I have been writing and recording songs solo as Greg James, playing the instruments, doing the vocals, recording and mixing and engineering everything on my own. It takes a lot of time, so there aren't as many albums produced that way. I will continue songwriting as long as possible.
Why Greg James? I started playing some solo shows live and chose to use that name for a stage name because there is a possibility it may be my real name. So now I have both. My great-grandfather told the family when he was dying that we weren't Johnson, but we were James and that he was a first-cousin or the famous Jesse James. There was no way to determine if this was true or not since no one knows who his father and mother were. I thought it would make a good stage name and at least maybe one of them is correct. So that is how Greg James was born!
